From Saturday Evening , August 10th.
God is love. Love thy neighbor as thyself
I feel that today God tested me big time. It is only natural that we are tested every day. God really tested me today with Ian, the farm owner I have been working with. There are times when I have been keying in on one task, and staying focused on completing that one task. Then Ian comes along and says "start the fire", or "cook the plums." I didn't mind this too much after a few days. Then after a rough night of little sleep last night, I was a little on the irritated side of things. Things almost hit the fan when Ian decided to just take over what I was doing since he thought things were going a little too slowly.
So I went back to the sawhorse and continued sawing away in peace. I kept telling myself "love, instead of anger." So I sawed away and waited for lunch to be prepared. Eventually I did assist with the preparation of our lunch. Later in the day Ian was a little impressed with all of the sawing away that I did on some pine wood.
During our dinner preparations we even chatted away about different varieties of plants and soil. Like Ag enthusiasts should over dinner. The lesson learned here is this: no matter how upset I was over Ian's nagging over various elements of work, sometimes you just need to look for God to help you gain some composure.
Remember to love others before judging them or coming to anger. We live in a world where some countries value judgment over compassion. Remember that God is love, and he enables us to share our Godly live with others.
Ephesians 5:1-2
5 1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Lord, at times we struggle to love others as we wish to be loved. Heal our angry hearts and love thy neighbor, as you gracious God have loved us. Lord, instill in us the courage to love others in this world, no matter what assumptions may come to our mind about those whose problems we are unaware of. May we use your Agape love, Lord. For you teach us much about love, especially through that great sacrifice you made for those who live in this world. May the love of your son Jesus Christ live in each and every one of us. In Christ's name, AMEN.
